What can I expect at the annual fair?
The Orangeburg County Fair began in 1911 as an agricultural fair, where participants should show their livestock, enter their canned goods or judging, and come together in community fellowship.
Since that first fair, we’ve expanded our offerings to include a food court with all of your classic favorites, a midway with 22 rides, daily entertainment, a petting zoo, bounce castles, and much, much more.
We still have the livestock shows and competitive exhibits, too, as well as a big dose of community fellowship!
What can I bring into the fair?
The Orangeburg County Fair has a clear bag policy for our patrons’ safety. For specific dimensions and other requirements, please visit our fair policies page.
No outside food or drinks are allowed.
I’m visiting with small children. What is there to do with them?
We request specific rides from our midway vendor each year to ensure that the smallest fair visitors still have plenty of ways to have fun!
In addition to the pint sized Ferris Wheel, kids’ slide, and merry-go-round-style rides for little ones, your family can also feed the friendly animals at the petting zoo, burn off some energy in the bounce castle barn, watch the livestock shows, check out the artwork and vendors in the Main Exhibit Building, and watch incredible kid-friendly entertainment.
Don’t forget all of the family favorites over in the food court, where you’ll find everything from hamburgers and chicken fingers to cotton candy and funnel cakes.
I would like to apply to sell food, merchandise, or other goods at the fair. How do I do so?
You’ll want to fill out a form to apply as a concessions vendor or as an exhibitor. You can find both of those forms over on our Fair Vendors page.
Once completed, your form will be reviewed by the Orangeburg County Fair staff, and you’ll be notified if you have secured a spot. Please note the specific business license and insurance requirements.
